SWEET POISON

Some activities we carry out on earth could appear to be harmless but definitely harmful to our soul. When a man or woman decides to eat a meat stolen from a boiling pot on fire in a hurry to avoid been caught, he can never enjoy the full taste of it. 

One of such activities that could be harmful to a man's soul which of course have been certified to be enjoyable is Sex- this is created by God to be enjoyed only by legally married couples. When it is done outside marriage, it is called FORNICATION (for unmarried people) OR ADULTERY (for married ones having sex outside marriage) which have its great aftermath.

HOW CAN THIS POISON AFFECT MAN?

• It reduces him to a weak man and hence cut off his effectiveness. "Give not thy strength to that that destroyeth kings..." (Prov. 31:3). Many great men have been reduced to nothing because of this poison. Great men of God, Business men, stakeholders, fathers and mother and a lot more have been rendered barren and ineffective because of this poison. As sweet as this poison is, kings, no matter how many battles they have fought and conquered, are made low by it.

• It cuts short his progress and prosperity, Any man that keeps himself from this poison will do well (Prov. 15:29b). Many destiny have been truncated and swallowed by this sweet poison. People with bright future have had their future terminated because of this. Many pray for open doors but towards the answer to their prayers, they cut it off by drinking this sweet poison.
• God's presence in a man's life is terminated by it. "Our body is the temple of God" (1Corinthians 6:18-20). When we yield ourselves to be partakers of this sweet but deadly poison, we sin against our body-God's temple. We so make ourselves vulnerable for the enemy to feast on us. Nothing of course works when God's presence is far from our lives. Losing His presence is greatest loss any man can have in his life.

• In one day, all you have built for years could be crashed down. It can lead to ultimate fall of a person (1 Corinthians 10:8). The world, reputation, integrity, name you must have taken time to build over a long time can be crashed down by a 10mins-15mins enjoyment. What a dilemma!
• It makes one an enemy of God and an object of God's wrath. (Colossians 3:5). Every wages of sin is death. No man can escape God's wrath when it comes. The terror of spending eternity at the place of God's wrath- Hell Fire, is the greatest danger of all time.

If you are living in immorality and you don't know to step out of it, God can still help you out. (In our next edition, we will deal with ways to avoid fornication). This is a platform to surrender your life afresh to Christ if have not really done so. You can do this prayer with me.

LORD JESUS, COME INTO MY LIFE, BE MY PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOR, I HAVE DECIEDED TO LIVE FOR YOU. FORGIVE ME ALL MY SINS AND CLEANSE ME FROM ALL INIQUITIES. THANK YOU FATHER FOR ACCEPTING ME BACK. AMEN
